What is it for?
Use a practical risk register to work through your venue, activities and the people attending. It gives each hazard a clear owner and records what still needs to happen before the event opens.
Start during planning, revisit after a venue walk-through and review when the event changes. Consider access, crowd movement, equipment, weather and the needs of attendees. The template uses written decisions rather than a universal numerical scoring system.
How to use this template
- Record the event, assessor and review date in the setup area.
- Walk the venue and identify hazards and who could be harmed.
- Write down existing controls and any further action, owner and deadline.
- Have the responsible lead review the residual risk and decide whether the activity can proceed.
